Eritrean pirates hijacked six Yemeni fishing boats with 60 sailors on board while in international waters yesterday, Interior Ministry reported on Monday.
Coastguard police told the security information center of the ministry that the Eritrean pirates took the abducted boats at gunpoint to Massawa area, where they confiscated the boats' contents and then put the 60 sailors on board one of the six hijacked boats and was then released to transfer the sailors.
Yemeni sailors arrived Monday at the fishing port of Hodeidah province.Their testimonies were taken for the case and the procedures are still ongoing to restore the Yemeni fishing boats held by pirates in Massawa area, the police explained.
