A spokesman for the Saudi border guard, Salim al-Salmi, told Saudi Elaf news Saturday that border guards have utilized all material and human resources to face any threat.
Al-Salmi said operational and intelligence preparations are continuing according to plans aimed at control the border and are updated as required by the security situation and conditions on the ground.
Elaf attributed the Saudi deployment to “suspicious movements by al-Houthi rebels” following clashes with Yemeni government troops.
Al-Houthi spokesman, Mohammed Abdo-Salam, confirmed in a statement two days ago that since the end of the Sixth War last February Houthis handed over the border to the Yemeni army and withdrew completely from all the areas that have witnessed conflict.
Abdo-Salam added the minutes signed by the committees which oversaw the implementation of the points to end the war that ensures Houthis will completely the withdrawal from the border with Saudi Arabia.
In the sixth war between the Yemeni government and Houthis rebels further into the Saudi border, killing two Saudi border guards, and taking over Saudi Arabia territory which -according to the Houthis- were used by the Yemeni government to launch raid against them.
