SCER prepares for upcoming parliamentary election

The Joint Executive Committee of the Supreme Committee for Elections and Referendum (SCER) and Education Ministry held on Saturday a meeting to implement the revising phase for the voters’ lists for 2010.

The meeting was headed by the SCER member and Chairman of Planning and Technical Affairs Mohammed al Sayani.

During the meeting, the Joint Committee presented a report on an operational mechanism formatting electoral commissions to implement the revising phase for the voters’ lists for 2010.

In addition, the committee reviewed legal requirements and standards for selecting participants in the committees.

The Joint Committee approved detailed procedures and a technical team to implement the mechanism and establish deadlines for implementing the mechanism.

The mechanism was presented by heads of the planning and technical affairs, fatwa and legal affairs as well as parties and civil society sections.
