Yemen PM, foreign ambassadors discuss implementation of GCC pact

Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa chaired on Sunday a consultative meeting with a number of foreign ambassadors to Yemen to follow up on the implementation of the Gulf-brokered initiative and its implementation mechanism.

During the meeting, they discussed the progress achieved in the implementation of the initiative as well as procedural steps which have been taken in this regard in order to ensure the early presidential elections, scheduled for 21 February, succeed.

Basindwa called for the active participation of all political forces and youth activities to succeed the next elections due to its key step for reinforcing the principle of peaceful transfer of power.
