Within the aftermath of removing the security director of Taiz by the governor, al-Islah party complained to President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who refused that complaint.
Sources assured that the governor met leaders from al-Islah as well as other Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) on Saturday where he noted that he standed equally apart from all political parties, assuring that he was not going to pay attention to partisans matters but instead to matters of development and services provided to citizens.
Al-Islah, as well as the JMPs, were against the decision made by the governor in which he asked the Minister of Interior to replace the Security director with a stronger character. They filed a complaint to the president about the removal of Taiz’s security director, Brigadier Ali al-Saeedi.
Governor Hael defended his decision by writing on his Facebook profile that he replaced some officials because he only believes in well qualified personnel to occupy these positions.
“I have given the deputy governors many chances to rectify their mistakes, yet that didn’t come up with any result,” said Governor Hael.
Regarding the security director who was appointed months ago and followed al-Islah party, Hael justified replacing him by saying that he had been given many chances to prove himself but his constant failure, and his neglecting, almost cost the escape of thousands of prisoners from the central prison.
According to al-Awla newspaper, the governor was discussing the reason why the Security director did not implement the plan, which was agreed to stop the riots. The director said “I have no idea why the plan was not implemented, my deputy went home to sleep,” then Hael replied to the director “You too go home, you don’t wanna work.”
Local Council of Taiz’s governorate issued a press release condemning the chaos in the central jail on May 25th. Seven inmates were injured and 10 escaped from jail, only five of them were arrested according to the press release.
