Yemen to Open OHCHR office

Saba news reported on Monday that Yemen and the United Nations were currently discussing the establishing in Yemen of a United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) office.

Minister of Legal Affairs Mohammed al-Mikhlafi said Yemen was committed to implement all points of the power-transfer initiative and comply with all of the UN recommendations in regards to Human Rights.

The minister highlighted the role of his ministry in the transitional period, referring to the preparation of the second draft to establish the independent commission for human rights.
