An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied news issued by some media that Yemen abstained on voting on the resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations on the situation in Syria.

The source said Yemen was one of the countries that have adopted the resolution and it did not participate in voting because it doesn’t have the rights to vote due to delayed payment of their contributions to the budget of the United Nations last year. He said Yemeni attitude toward Syria is committed to the decision of the Arab consensus, adding fees have been transferred to enable Yemen to vote.
