Doha-based Qatar Airways is one of only six airlines in the world with a Five Star ranking for service and excellence. The company prides itself on the quality service it provides its customers, and the relations it maintains with its agents throughout the world. Qatar Airways' cabin crew were voted ‘Best in the Middle East’ for the sixth year running in 2008 by Skytrax, the independent aviation industry monitoring agency, in a survey of more than 15 million passengers.

Qatar Airways relies greatly on the support of agents throughout the world in maintaining the company’s success. In order to celebrate the contributions of their travel and cargo agents in Yemen, the airline held on 27 December their Annual Agents Award night at the Movenpick Hotel Sana'a, which was attended by the staff of the Qatari Embassy in Yemen, Travel / Cargo agents & Media. Awards were presented to the top 10 travel agents and the top 4 cargo agents, who each received Crystal trophies and certificates of appreciation. The awards after party included a traditional Yemeni art band, and a draw for 3 Qatar Airways tickets to Doha, Muscat and Bahrain.

Qatar Airways has grown from strength to strength over the years, and is set to almost double its fleet by 2013. Qatar Airways has ordered 80 Airbus A350s, 60 Boeing 787s, 6 Airbus A321s and 32 Boeing 777s.  The airline has also placed orders for 5 new twin-deck Airbus A380 or ‘super jumbo’ scheduled for delivery from 2012.

Qatar Airways is due to move to the New Doha International Airport in 2011 when the first phase of the new facility is scheduled to open.
