“Only a great man can build a school for orphans from the ground up, in addition to paying the teachers’ salaries for a whole year. Mr. Shaher Abdul-Haaq did this for us and we can’t thank him enough,” Amal al-Zuaetry, the Public Relations Officer at Dar al-Rahma Orphan’s School, said during a ceremony last Thursday, June 18 that the school held to celebrate the completion of its first year.

The orphan school called Hind School, contained fifty students at four levels for it’s first year, according to the Principal of the school, Bushra al-Ansi during her speech which welcomed everyone who came to share the children’s happiness.

Either in Arabic or English, the students presented, sang, acted, and performed their talents without fear. The audience in attendance adored their performances.

Their faces told a story, whether they performed about the Palestinian issue, mothers, or the importance of study. Afterward, the Principal and teachers at the school honored the top students.

At the end of the ceremony, al-Zuaetry honored Mr. Mohammed al-Wadhaf a representative from MTN who handed over the keys of a new bus as a gift for Hind School, and air-conditioning units for Dar al-Rahma, Taiz branch.
