Yemen’s labor market assessed

Yemen Consulting House revealed one of its activities: a free volunteer workshop, “Strategies to develop human resources and identify training needs in the labor market of Yemen in the public and private sector.”

A four-day workshop was held in the headquarters of Yemen Consulting House from 22nd - 23rd and 26th – 27th of December. The activity had strategic goals and national development dimensions aimed at providing owners and human resources managers in government institutions the strategic vision of the human labor. Through the contemporary concepts the workshop taught how to manage change and appropriate mechanisms for identifying training needs and advisory services in order to raise the level of performance and productivity. This is in light of realism readings for the Yemeni labor market, despite its challenges and difficulties and appropriate promotion requirements.

There was a large presence from almost all human resources leaders, public and private sector, which showed an unprecedented interactive by those leaders. This reflects a serious concern and a sincere desire towards reactive training and training needs. And so, the situation imposed on us the initiative and to stand serious and responsible to lend a hand to institutions and sectors of national economy and should refrain from marked reluctance and looking for solutions and emphasizing the centrality of human hands and minds,” said Iman Yousif, the General Manager of the Yemeni Consulting House. “Some training foundations try to engage themselves, in terms of arrangement and goals. This effort emits to achieve common interests between the Consulting House and labor market institutions,” explained Adel al-Rabe’e, Marketing and Quality Director in YCH. “In Yemen, we are in need to common vision raised in the shadow of theoretical and realistic jumping from the tradition of tradition without looking at what client suffers from and wants in the first place,” he added. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Service Sector Policy Design and Research, Noor al-Barky, confirmed the importance of following modern methods and policies in order to determine training needs.
