MTN Yemen has announced a reduction in international call rates, down to YR 99 per minute to any country during January 2010. Last week, MTN also launched its new international roaming service charge for their prepaid customers, now featured at the same rate of the bill system’s standard tariff service. This is in addition to is the MTN one world service, which enables customers to recharge their accounts with MTN local scratch cards while roaming in Syria, Sudan, Iran, Cyprus and Afghanistan.
MTN’s information spokesman, Tawfiq al-Nadhif, announced that the corporation is seeking to provide additional merits to its customers through the provision of qualitative services. The announcement was made during a company celebration where tickets to the 2010 World Cup were awarded to another fortunate customer.
Al-Nadhif pointed out that the new international roaming service rates came as a result of joint efforts with other leading mobile operators, intended to build strategic partnerships in order to achieve added values of unified tariffs for all Yemeni MTN customers.
In related news, MTN held a special World Cup event last Thursday, where the winners of the weekly MTN draw received their prizes, including telephone packages, televisions, and the grand prize of an all expense trip to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup.
The eighth ticket went to Hamoud Sinan al-Azieb, from the capital Secretariat. Al-Azieb lauded the company’s credibility with its customers, and thanked MTN for providing him the chance to attend the World Cup 2010 finals, considered the world’s largest single sporting event.
