Japan alleviates congested classrooms

The Minister of Education Abdul Salam al-Jawfi, along with the outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Sana’a Masakazu Toshikage, opened the second phase of the schools project funded by the Japanese government on Monday. The second phase includes handing over five schools of basic education (grades 1-9) in Sana’a city and Sana’a province. The five schools were built and equipped by the Japanese government at a total cost of 687 million yen. The Japanese diplomat expressed happiness for finalizing the second phase and handing over these schools, saying that the first and second phases were implemented at total cost of approximately $15 million.
