Interposed by panel entitled ( al-Balda where all fans meet) an astonishing conclusion to seventh al-Balda festival events in Mukala Kohr, al-Balda seventh Festival’s ship had docked safely last Tuesday night at Khor al-Mukalla Square.
At the ceremony Hadramout governor Salem Ahmed al- Khanbashi praised the President’s directives to the Ministries of Culture and Tourism for the adoption of the festival as one of the town’s annual festivals, that is officially supported by the government, pointing out that the local authority will be working in another direction to include the festival within the investment plan every year and allocate a special budget for the festival in 2011. It will cover any other expenses for special events, especially that Hadramout governorate seeks to develop the festival into the regional level during the next years. .
Al-Khanbashi explained that this year’s festival is the first to be held in cooperation with the private sector, praising the role of the Bait al-Khibra Establishment for Studies and Consultancy for organizing the festival, ensuring that this year’s experience won’t pass without evaluation and follow up for benefiting from the advantages and to avoid the weaknesses in the next festivals, in order to contribute to the festival’s objectives of highlighting Hadramout cultural and civilized heritage.
Al-Khanbashi pointed out to the difficulties that faced the governorate, especially the electricity after the burning of al-Rian station noting that the local authorities are currently working for a stabilized electricity situation.
At the festival which is attended by the Vice Minister of Culture, Dr. Ahmed Salem al-Qadi, the engineer, and businessman Sheikh Abdullah Ahmed Bogshan and a number of social dignitaries. a speech is given by the executive office of Tarim, the Islamic cultural capital Ahmed Bin Dois. His speech which reviewed the events that were executed during the festival, which is considered to be a great cultural event, and is dedicated to highlight Hadramout’s cultural and tourism heritage stock, noting that the inauguration of the President to the festival is an important step towards the promotion of the tourism sector. He said that it will bring about sustainable development into the governorate and Yemen in general.
Engineer Badr Ba Salama, Chairman of the Bait al-Khibra Establishment, head of the festival’s organizing committee, gave a speech he pointed out that their Establishment has the honor of organizing the seventh festival. He ensured that it reflects their knowledge of the importance of the festival’s role in the local economy activation, and the creation of job opportunities. He pointed out to the agreement between the Establishment and the local authorities which is transferred through time into a regional festival that exploits the governorate’s huge cultural heritage and developed it into an important cultural and tourist product. He reviewed the festival’s events which were started with the great artistic show of Hadramout rural weddings that was honored with the presence of HE the President of the Republic and his clear directives to the government for its annually support .
An artistic panel was presented at the ceremony entitled (the land of fans.) It was executed by more than 100 dancers of the workers’ band and the students of Khalid Ibn Al Waleed school. A Panel welcoming the eighth festival is carried out by a number of folkloric dance bands of Mukala city as well as poems, sketches, singing, and fire works that colored Mukala sky winning the public satisfaction. Several published media reports said that the 2010 al-Balda festival is considered as the best ever, since the inauguration of the this festival in 2004, by the former Hadramout Governor Abdulkader Hilal. The reports pointed out that the 2010 festival was characterized by the administrative organization and the variation of cultural, artistic religious and sports events.
