Over 1,750 food ration were distributed for needy families in areas around the capital on Thursday and Sunday August 19th,22nd.
A renowned Turkish Non Governmental Organization” Kimse Yok Mu “and the Turkish International Schools’ personnel, teachers and students’ parents have organized a Ramadan food package delivery campaign for poor and needy families in Sana’a.
Every year the schools deliver this aid for poor families. This year 1,750 needy families received packages. Each Package includes 5kg rice , 5kg sugar ,3 lt oil ,5 bean cans ,5 kg flour ,4kg dates ,1kg milk powder.
Mehmet Yilmaz, Chairman of Yemen Turkish Taawun Co. Ltd. Which runs the school assured that this event is a simple gesture of solidarity with Yemeni people. “This initiative is about charity, and this event is done by the students.”
“Kimse Yok Mu” association raised the majority of the donations. The packages were distributed to needy people by the determined by teachers, students and parents.
The areas targeted were Sunainah, Taiz road and Havlan road districts.
The annual event is conducted by the Turkish International School, students and businessmen along with contributors from several social aid campaigns. The campaign has been helping needy families in the city since 1998.
