Yemen, Egypt commemorate October 6th

On the Occasion of October 6 Egyptian, Yemeni officials puts flower wreath on the Egyptian tomb

 General of staff Sharaf Mohammed Ahmed al-Dhobhani, Deputy Chief of the Military Staff for the Financial and Administrative Affairs in Yemen along with Egypt Ambassador to Yemen, H.E. Ashraf Abdullwahab Aqel and the Defense Attaché in the Egyptian Embassy, Staff Colonel Khaled M. Ezz Elragal placed a flower wreath on the memorial tomb of the Egyptian soldiers in Yemen.

“This occasion represents defeating the Israeli assault in 1973,” said Staff Colonel Ezz Elragal. He added “this occasion also is a chance to show the deep relations between Yemen and Egypt, these relations which were enforced by blood.”  H.E. Egypt Ambassador to Yemen said that within these situations he would love to hail the soul of Anwar al-Sadat, the late president of Egypt who led the army to the victory in 1973.

“I wish these days pass peacefully upon Yemen and Egypt. Yemenis should resort to the dialogue,” said Aqel.

“The 6th of October was a very special day for Egypt and the Arab Nation as well. This day is the day of dignity and honor,” said the Egyptian Ambassador, adding “this day is unforgettable for the Egyptian, Arab, and international military strategists and scholars.

The war of October 6 is still mentioned and taught in military academies.” This ceremony was held in the occasion of the Egyptian Armed Forces Day to celebrate the victory of October 6, against the Israeli army in 1973 and successful crossing of the Suez Canal that culminated in the capture of the Bar Lev Line.
