At a festive event at Sheraton Sana’a, Lufthansa German Airlines honored the top achievers of the Yemeni travel industry. Speaking at the occasion, Patrick Borg Hedley, Lufthansa General Manager Yemen, said: “Once again, we are proud to hand over the ‘Lufthansa Top Performance Award’ to our strongest partners in the travel industry, as a sign of appreciation for the excellent cooperation and support we enjoy”.

The elegant dinner reception at Sheraton Sana’a was attended by owners and staff of the travel agencies. The winners of the prestigious Lufthansa award are: Yemen Intercontinental Travel, Al Rawhani Travel, Universal Travel, Murjan Travel & Tourism, Sky Travel & Tours, Arabian Peninsula Travel & Tours, Falcon Travel & Tours, Orbit Travel Agency, National Travel & Tourism and Al Huraish Travel & Tours Agency. A number of attractive prizes awaited the dinner guests during a raffle which was also held during the Lufthansa reception at the Sheraton.

Catering to the needs of the customers in the region, Lufthansa is one of the most favorite airlines chosen by business travelers. Addressing the guests,  General Manager Yemen, Patrick Borg Hedley, highlighted the extensive network of the airline and its new destinations which have most recently been introduced on routes to Africa, the US and Asia. “The Lufthansa brand is synonymous with aviation expertise and acknowledged service standards on board and on the ground,” Mr. Borg Hedley said. To make the journey for its passengers as comfortable as possible, the German carrier has set aside a 150 million euros investment over a period of the next five years to open and refurbish airport lounges worldwide.

“Besides our strong focus on the corporate customer, we also offer an excellent product for our guests traveling in Economy Class, i.e. by gradually fitting the seats of our longhaul aircraft with video screens”. For the delivery of its new flagship, the A380, Lufthansa is well prepared. At Frankfurt airport, the airline has opened up a new passenger pier which can be used to board and deboard the aircraft on two levels, which are located above each other at pier C/D in the terminal building.

Lufthansa and Yemen are longstanding partners. The airline has been successfully connecting the country to Germany and onwards for more than 20 years. Lufthansa operates three times a week from Sana’a to Frankfurt with the state-of-the-art Airbus A330 and A340 in a three class configuration.

An attractive offer for travelers to Europe and North America is currently in the market: YER 99,999 for a round-tip in Economy Class to any European destination and YER 199,999 to destinations in the US. These fares can be booked through Lufthansa’s travel partners and travel agents
