The Ministry of Interior launched on Saturday the unified traffic week under the slogan “Until When?’’
The Ministry announced that traffic law and a return of traffic police to the streets of Yemen was an important step forward as it would help bring a sense of normality back to the country after a year of unprecedented violence and overlapping crises.
The program came on the eve of the “Arab Traffic Week” which is organized by the Security Information Center.
Officials explained that traffic in Yemen had been affected by the crises, stressing that barricades and checkpoints did nothing to alleviate the matter, often making things worse as motorists had to drive on the wrong side of the road to get through, increasing the chances of accidents and creating a driving culture of carelessness.
