Now number one battle for the people is going to be with corruption and the corrupt wherever they are and whoever they are.
Corruption in Yemen has almost invaded every institution in Yemen and fighting it should come at the top of the agenda of the new government if they really want to terminate the suffering of people in Yemen. The alternative is that now people have learned a new culture, which is the culture of strikes and demonstrations.
The real power should be in the hands of people who are eager to see a real change that is going to change their life to the better no to make it worse. People are craving better life and want to see real improvement in their living standards. They want to see better services in education, health, electricity, water everything. Yemenis have suffered enough.
These days, people feel they could express their anger against anything that goes against their welfare. They are now marching and protesting against anybody and anything and have learned to ask questions and hold people in charge accountable. They have come to realize that they have the right to know what is being done to them and for them. People are watching everything with eyes eager to better future.
Now decision-makers have to know that they are being watched by the people and must think twice before taking actions.
Now wherever one goes, the word of change appears everywhere which shows the strong desire that people have to see better future for them and for their children. But again, change must be based or done through peaceful means without destroying anything, without making chaos, without blocking roads or streets. Freedom is good, but there is nothing as absolute freedom otherwise it will turn into chaos.
But again, the biggest battle that people should fight is with corruption which is the biggest enemy. We would like to see corrupt in trail corrupt put behind bars, which will give the people hope that no one is bigger than the law.
Yemen really has the potential to be a very rich country and we do have many resources but corruption hinders the country from moving forward. If the corrupts know that the are going to be questioned and if found guilty will be put behind bars they will think many times before committing any wrongs.
The best remedy for the suffering of Yemenis is to engage in a severe fight with corruption until it is uprooted. Only then we could see better life for all people.
