The increase of the orphan rate in the Islamic world is a great concern for the authorities and institutions responsible for orphan care, said the CSSW General Manager, Dr. Mohammed al-Qubati. He expressed fear for the impacts of present failure on future orphans’ behavior, calling for joint official and public efforts for facing the phenomenon.
Following his participation in the second orphan conference in Bahrain, Dr. Qubati confirmed, that the present stage requirements have been instituted in the modernization of orphan care mechanisms which seek to sponsor an entire family instead of just a single person to alleviate their sufferings.
Dr. al-Qubati said that the conference, held under the slogan, ‘ the best house is where an orphan is being well cared for,’ was a great opportunity to know the up-to-date performances of orphan care methods, ensuring that the participation will mark a qualitative step in the society performance.
The conference, which was held in Manama under the sponsorship of the king of Bahrain, included several debates and workshops for the development of orphan institutions’ performance management.
The orphans’ sector director at the Orphan’s Society, Abdo Mohammed Wasel, pointed out that the conference’s functions were characterized by seriousness, modernization and the ability to accomplish the objectives.
Wasel said that the Islah society’s decision to participate in the first conference held two years ago stands as a regional recognition of their role as a pioneering society in several fields, including orphan care.
