Yemeni health delegation visit to Jordan

A Yemeni information-health delegation concluded a visit to the Hashemite Jordanian Kingdom, looking into the development of the Jordanian public and private hospitals progress in the provision of health services to patients in the Arab world.
 
The Yemeni delegation, consisting of representatives from Yemen’s health systems and some information institutions, visited several public and private hospitals in Amman and Irbid to look into the Jordanian experience.
 
Dr. Ghazi Ismail, the Health Deputy Minister said on the delegation's return that the visit consolidated the bilateral health relations, as well as the experience sharing. He added that the Jordanians promised to offer special care to Yemeni patients in public and private Jordanian hospitals.
 
Dr. Ghazi, the delegation's chairman explained that the special merits included an agreement of up to a 20 percent discount to Yemeni patients sent to Jordan, in addition to treating the Yemenis the same as Jordanian citizens in receiving health services.

 
The Deputy Minister said that the benefit from the Jordanian experience would be used in developing the Yemeni health institutions, hoping that the health services in Yemen will reach the Jordanian distinction in providing health services to its citizens, Arab and foreign patients.

Amman has witnessed exponential growth in population and, accordingly, the modernity of their hospitals.
According to Ghazi, Jordan showed readiness to train Yemeni medical, technical and administrative health Yemeni staff in Jordanian health institutions.
 
The Deputy Minister and the delegation members were impressed by the advanced Jordanian health services that became comparable to the finest developed ones in America and Europe.

 
The visit was on an invitation by the private Jordanian hospital's Association and included a meeting with Jordanian Health Minister Dr. Naïf al-Faiz. It was attended by Dr. Fawzi al-Hamori, Chairman of the Jordanian private hospitals Association, Dr. Haidar al-Atom the Jordanian Health Attaché In Sana’a, and Dr. Abdulwahab al-Ulifi, the Yemeni Health Attaché in Amman.
 
The Jordanian Minister assured that the Yemeni patients in Jordan would receive all facilities and privileges as well as special attention from his ministry. He promised to take all measures to provide distinctive services to Yemenis as well as taking tough measures against those who attempt to exploit them and cause them any troubles.
 
Dr. Fawzi al-Hamori stressed on the Jordanian private hospitals agreement to provide quality services to Yemeni patients and that their complaints would be taken seriously. He said punitive measures would be taken against trespassers. He pointed out that two hospitals were suspended last year due to mistreatment of Yemeni patients. Dr. al-Ulifi, said that the relevant Jordanian authorities take the complaints filed by Yemeni patients through the embassy seriously, lauding the Health Minister's stance that ordered investigating a Yemeni patient's medical bill that mounted to JD 45000 and was decreased to JD 8000 within two days.

The Jordanian health Attaché in Sana’a said that their embassy in Sana’a are working in coordination with the Jordanian Health Ministry and the Private Jordanian Hospitals Association, for facilitating the Yemeni patients’ trips and comfort.
 
He said that the embassy provides all information regarding the places to go to and the services quality in accordance with their rates.
 
Ahmed al-Jabr, the YJS health secretary said that their syndicate is preparing agreements with a group of Jordanian hospitals for providing free services to Journalists ' families.
 
The Yemeni delegation's visit to Jordan achieved a number of benefits including a free health guide that will be distributed to Yemeni patients before departing to Jordan, showing the hospitals in Jordan and their specializations.
