The British council in conjunction with the Ministry of Education has recently concluded the intensive courses for trainers of teachers held in Sana’a at the High institute in-service from 19th of June to the 3rd of July 2010. 94 English trainers applied for the trainers post in the British council were submitted to tests of TKT and FCE made thoroughly and carefully by the British council so only 40 trainers passed the couple tests successfully. Those trainers were from different provinces such as Sana’a, Taiz, Hodeida, Ibb, Hadramout, Dhamar, Al Mahwait, and Al- Baidha.

The training sessions inaugurated and presented initially by The English Project Manager, Mr. Fetwi and Mrs. Hilary Burr who were able profitably to deliver some significant information and ideas for the trainers prior to training so as to be capable for delivering a model training sessions to the teachers of English Language in the upcoming future. On this regard, the 40 trainers being divided into two groups have recently delivered training courses/workshops to each other covering five modules for instance, presenting new language, asking and eliciting, giving instructions, starting and finishing a lesson and general classroom management. Consequently, these sessions followed by accurate positive feedbacks given by the couple fetwi and Hilary to the trainers.

Later on, the trainers have applied and delivered two sessions left for two days entitled as L1 and giving an accurate and clear spoken model for some real teachers from Sana’a who already came to take part as English trainees. On Thursday, the 1st of July, feedbacks from some trainers to their colleagues were given followed by master feedbacks either by fetwi or Hilary who provided them with similar ones promoting that with a lot of ideas and information.

On Friday, the trainers came out for a tourist tour to Dhaher’s Valley enjoying precious moments in Dar Al Hajar being attracted by its unique architecture built on huge rock and the enchanting views overlooking to all the sides of the valley covered by green carpets of trees. As a result, they were taking some photos to each other and for Dar Al Hajar too. This tour was actually supported financially by Mr. Fetwi who received great impression and enormous gratitude from all the trainers due to his kindness and humblity. Presumably, Mr. Peter Lucantoni, a famous-preeminent author worldwide would have come to deliver such English activities for the three days remained but in vain owing to some urgent circumstances out of his will so the British Council promised the trainers to host him again in the nearer future.

On the 3rd of July, the British Council represented by Michael White, the Director of the British Council, Mr. Fetwi the English Project Manager and Mrs. Hilary concluded the intensive training courses for the trainers of teachers by honoring them with certificates and expressing their happiness due to their enthusiasm and motivation which make this sessions a success. Meanwhile, Acram Mothana Haider on behalf of his colleagues delivered a speech expressing his giant gratitude and flock of thanks to the efforts exerted by the British council valuing the outstanding roles played by Mr. Fetwi and Mrs. Hilary who help the trainers to develop their skills and creating new trends for training the teachers in an innovative and dynamic ways. At the same time, Acram himself recited a nice poem entitled as “Elite” which received an applaud and praise by the trainers. Then Mohammed Al Hawsali delivered nice words expressing his respect and appreciation to the British Council especially Mr. Fetwi and Mrs. Hilary as well as praising the performance of his close colleagues during these training sessions. It’s worth-mentioning that Mr. Najeeb Al Maqrami did a great job being a joint link between the British Council and the trainers themselves satisfying the trainers’ needs so he was received cables of thanks and appreciation  for what he have already done .
