Prominent historian “Al-Hamdani” suggested that the first Yemeni settlers in Raimah settled in “Shajban” which lies between MekhlafJablan and the western DhamariMekhlafs.
“Yashjub Bin Qahtan” was from this area. Al-Hamdaniwrote at length about Raimahdescribing its mountains, castles, historical sites and tribal affiliations as well as documenting itsagricultural techniques and livestock products. Ancient scriptures discovered by archeologists in the region - Dowmar Mountain - states Raimah was governed by the Ajeem tribe.
Its people followed the Qatabani faith – based on the worship of Amm – Two temples dedicated to Amm were found in the Dowmar Mountain. Raimah was always subject to much envy as tribes looked greedily at its vast fertile lands and moderate climate.
