USAID to assist Yemen’s fight against Malaria and Bilharzias

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) voiced their readiness to provide assistance to the Public Health and Population Ministry to fight Malaria and Bilharzias on Saturday. 

The Deputy Director General of the USAID in Washington said during his meeting with Minister of Public Health and Population, Abdul Karim Rase’a, the agency would cooperate with World Bank and the World Health Organization in this regard. 

The USAID official noted that its agency has a plan to support health programs to fight these diseases.  Moreover, the meeting reviewed the implemented progress of the USAID-funded health programs in governorates of Saada, Jawf, Marib, Shabwa and Amran. In addition, they discussed cooperative bilateral relations in health fields. 

During the meeting Rase’a praised the assistance provided by the USAID to Yemen, including medicines and medical equipment in addition to training Yemeni medical professionals.
